- Gail Weingast MD is a medical doctor, but her educational endeavors did not necessarily follow this trajectory. Like all medical doctors, she has received a plethora of education. Her Education began with receiving her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Spanish in 1969 from Tufts University, Jackson College, Medford, MA. She then went on to receive her Degree in Medicine in 1976 from Boston University’s School of Medicine in Boston, MA.

Radiologist Dr. Gail Weingast
Way back in 1969, Gail Weingast earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts, which indicates that she didn’t always know she wanted to be a doctor. However, soon after that, she attended the Boston University School of Medicine and became Gail Weingast MD in 1976. That wasn't the end of her education of course. Over time, she completed a pediatric internship and residency, a radiology residency and an ultrasound fellowship, al at Denver’s Colorado General Hospital and she completed a post-graduate program as a radiologist at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver.
Dr. Gail Weingast then practiced at hospitals in Colorado andNew York, until she settled in at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. She has now been there for more than 20 years and she is the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. Dr. Weingast is a highly regarded radiology specialist at Backus and she has been able to guide her department into its current position as one of the top radiology facilities in the country.
